 Manifold Porting

Many 3.0 guys have ported their intake manifold with good results. Basically you open up the inside, remove the center wall, and make everything mirror smooth.

This basically removes some of your low end torque, but you get improvements (power wise) in the mid and high rpm ranges.

Typically this job (for someone who has never done it) can take up to a week or so (assuming you have all the tools and such already). You'd need some JB Weld to strengthn up the areas around the runners and anywhere you do extreme porting.

Somepeople who have done a few porting jobs can do them within a few days, depending how long they work each day.

All and all this is a good option if you find that you do great at first, but then slowly lose your ground troward the end of the track, however alot of people prefer to keep their low end torque and thus keep the center divider during their port jobs.

There are pictures floarting around online of what this looks like, when finished, however I can not seem to find any off hand, if you have any that you'd not mind me showing on this page, email me.
