One of the hardest steps...
Now we must make a circuit which gives us the ability to send a signal to ground @140hz, 35% duty cycle.
The way it works is pretty simple, in first gear- the shifter sends a "input 1st +12volts" which then goes and uses transistors to "turn on" the two solenoids used for 1st gear.
a 555 timer IC then takes these two solenoids and sends them to ground (thus working the solenoid!).
The solenoid useage per gear goes as follows:
|
Gear |
Solenoid |
|
1st |
L/R & 2/4 |
|
2nd |
None Needed (limp mode= 2nd gear!) |
|
3rd (direct gear?) |
2/4 & OD |
