Step Three

Now we are building a circuit that uses transistors and a switch to "switch" between TCMs.

The idea is simple- since we do not yet have lockup we want to be able to switch between automatic use (OEM TCM) and stick use (CTCM). Basically you're only going to want to use the stick mode during racing or whatever... since its harder on the A604.

This is a relatively basic circuit.

Use a "not gate" (not shown in the diagram) so that the switch does NOT work when the ignition switch is in the "on" or "running" position.

Basically the switch has two positions- in one 12 volts goes to one wire, in the other position 12 volts goes to a different wire.

From there- one wire will go threw 4 transistors and switch the selonoid pack so that it is attached to the stick 1-3 gear shifter circuit.

The other wire will send 12volts to several transistors and switch the solenoid pack connector so that it is electronically connected to the OEM TCM.

This picture shows the solenoid pack connector

The OEM TCM *will* have power and be on during stick use, it just wont be attached to the solenoid pack (basically its as if you tried running the car with the solenoid pack connector off).

In auto use, the CTCM will be on and working- but since it lacks a limp mode it wont care that it isnt connected to the solenoids.

Expect to get codes from the OEM TCM after stick mode...

NOTE: Relays can be used in place of transistors in this switching circuit, however transistors maybe the cheapest bet.
