180 Degree Thermostat
One way to improve upon the cooling of the engine is to replace the thermostat with one rated below the stock number of 190, in place of a 180 degree version. This then makes the car turn on the radiator fans at 180 degrees, as opposed to 190 degrees. However, this mod is not needed if a remote fan control and/or aftermarket fan controler switch & temp trigger are used.
This is a relatively cheap modification, running around $10 (US), and so, should be something to consider when it comes time to replace the thermostat.
This will NOT cause error codes on FWD Mopars (or at least not the ones from this era of time!).
Remeber, this is a site on preOBID2 Dynasty's (1990-1993), I can not speak to what will cause OBID2 error codes and/or OBID 2 emission testing problems.
Also, in NY state they only emission test cars from 1994 or new that are OBID2 so these cars are not tested.
