THE Dodge Dynasty Website

A Fleetcar 1991 Dodge Dynasty

Although I typically like to display only the best kept Dynasty's on this site, mostly due to the demand for those pictures over rust buckets and the fact that I have a limit on space for this site. However this Dynasty was worth note.

The car is a rough shape 1991 Dodge Dynasty which appeared on eBay as a government fleet car auction. The car was used by the Oregon state government as a fleet car. The car really shows that its kept working despite abuse.

Mopars were and still are generally thought of in the fleet industry. The M-bodies really gave the world a good line of fleet cars. M-body government cars, taxis, etc to this day are still common across the globe, despite abuse, the price of gas, rust, and everything inbetween. Its not hard to find these cars in perfect running ability despite 300,000+ miles on the clock. Some fleet owners will only use M-bodies.

However in 1989, the M-body line ended. And with it, the fleet owners needed a replacement. They knew time, use, and rust will make M-bodies unable to be used as fleet cars forever. However owners who had been more then pleased by the years... er... decades of reliability that the M-bodies gave went back to Chrysler for new models. It was not uncommon to see fleet cars in the forms of Spirits, K-cars, even Shadows. The Dynasty was no exception. In fact, I've been told that most of the Dynasty sales were for fleet service, hence the reason why the special option packaged models are so uncommon today.

Typically fleet cars were lower priced bare-bones models with few options. This model has the 3.3 V6 engine in it- which was always optional equipment on the Dynasty and only went in option packages which included other power "goodies". For some reason, the 3.3 was the perfered engine for fleet service Dynasty models.

Dirty engine bay. And starting to rust. Still willing and ready to fight ricers to the death. Or, as more often the case, to get you from point a to point b without having to think about braking down.
